Shutting down allb.us

Shutting down the studio

I’ve always secretly enjoyed retiring computing systems.

Over 10 years ago, catching public transportation in Hawaii was hard. Having just given up my car, I originally wrote allb.us to help make that transition more palpable.

I’m a little nostalgic because the site was always a reminder to me of all the things I had going on at the time; working at a small startup, helping start Honolulu’s first makerspace, and negotiating a move to NYC.

I finally decided to retire allb.us after all these years because:

  • I finally had some free time
  • Monthly $20 is now $40
  • Multitude of better transit apps in the marketplace

All good things must come to an end.

After all, that’s the beauty of technology; something better will eventually take its place.
